It is later revealed that the original New Present variant of Yugi Tsukasa was erased from the timeline by both Kako and Mirai, making this particular character an outlier and possibly a manifestation of The Entity itself, instead of being a true and altered New Present variant of the original Yugi Tsukasa.
Overview[]
The character's actions was first shown years ago, when a trio of girls were performing the same ritual, it happened that Yugi Amane passed by them, and gave a rather sinister smile upon knowing whose name the trio were calling. The name wasn't shown to the readers during that flashback. Due to his familiarity with Tsukasa, Amane would often ask any student who comes into his Science Prep room if they wanted to know something about the Tsukasa-Kun incantation, and an apparition of his would do the same to Yashiro Nene years later when she stumbled into the Science Prep room, which is now the storage room.
The character is first mentioned in Chapter 113, when another trio of girls, having prepared every step for the Ritual of the Spirit Gate, called out his name twice and invited him to "come out and play", presumably to answer certain questions that they want answered. One of the girl's papers turns blood red, and thus, Tsukasa-Kun was summoned into the human realm. From there, he possessed the schoolgirl, and as a result, she went missing. Due to this, Mitsuba talks to Kou a chapter later and asks him to help him find her and bring her back.
The character finally appears in Chapter 115, as both Kou and Mitsuba figure out what had happened to the missing girl. Tsukasa appeared before the both of them after another zombie-like supernatural (Presumably the missing schoolgirl) climbed the window behind the both of them. As he turned to face both Kou and Mitsuba, he exclaimed that he had found two more people to play it, and invited them to play his game. This game would have both Kou and Mitsuba run away from, then forming a plan to destroy the Yorishiro tying Tsukasa to the human realm, and thus, save the missing schoolgirl from his possession. While a success, Tsukasa managed to remain in the human realm, and even possessed Kou, despite his exorcist training, until he was free from it by his brother Teru.

Appearance[]
Prior to Chapter 115, Yugi Tsukasa is only mentioned once, when a trio of schoolgirls chant his name as part of the Ritual of the Spirit Gate.
When he finally appears, he is seen as a small child with a hunched back and when he moves or turns, he moves in a rather ghastly way. When his face is shown, it has a large black hole that covers most of his face and allows those viewing him to see what is behind the hole. However, he can change his face at will and remove the large gaping hole in his face, revealing golden eyes without any pupils, a twisted version of his original iteration's more focused eyes.
His clothing is almost similar to the clothes that his original iteration wore as a child, minus the overalls on his shorts. He also wore no footwear of any kind, making him barefooted.
Personality[]
This iteration of Yugi Tsukasa has a personality that's a mix of his more mischievous older self and his more innocent younger self from the original timeline. When summoned, he asks to play with the humans who summoned him, and acts all cutsey and innocent so that the humans are enticed and convinced to play with him, but when anyone refuses to play with him, he can become very angry and chase after them, resorting to possessing them with his power if they do not comply with his requests.
Given his much younger appearances, his mental thinking and vocabulary is that of a young toddler's. But it is possible that he is far more cunning than he shows. Aoi Akane also posits the possibility that the New Present iteration of Yugi Tsukasa, may not actually be him at all, and Chapter 119 confirms his suspicions, as he was nowhere to be seen in a family photo at the Red House, implying that Yugi Tsukasa as a character is not in the New Present, and that the "Yugi Tsukasa" encountered by the characters is another supernatural impersonating as him, possibly The Entity.
Abilities[]
Possession[]
Yugi Tsukasa is able to take control of anyone he touches and turn them into zombified versions of themselves. When Tsukasa touches a person, the part of the skin which made contact with him grows black spots and covers it in a blackish corrupting layer, and at that part, a person may lose control over it. If only touched partially, control over the affected part can still be done, if only with some effort, but complete and total corruption can result in a possession by Tsukasa. In some cases, the possessed may also have a large gaping hole over their faces, similar to that of Yugi Tsukasa's own. It is powerful enough to possess the likes of exorcists such as Minamoto Kou, although Minamoto Teru suggests that it's because Kou didn't have enough training to handle it as of yet.
Alternatively, the bleeding of a piece of paper with one's name written on it is another form of possession, as said piece of paper becomes a Yorishiro and transformed the schoolgirl whose name was written on it into a zombie-like supernatural. It was only after Mitsuba Sousuke ripped off the Yorishiro that she was freed from his control.
So far, only an unidentified Middle Schoolgirl and Minamoto Kou were victims of Yugi Tsukasa's possession abilities. Yashiro Nene becomes one such victim during one of her attempts to change the past with the use of the Mystical Hourglass, which sadly results in her killing all of her friends while under his possession.
Leaving a Dark Imprint[]
Noticibly, anyone who was previously possessed by Tsukasa is given a dark "imprint" within their soul that can speak to them, although the one affected wouldn't notice at first. This happened to Kou when he sees the Red House, as the voice told him "That's it!" Presumably, said imprint was able to influence the actions of the one who had it, to the point that they go in doing what the voice says despite initial awareness of any potential dangers that may happen.
There is a possibility that the voice speaking to Kou is either that of The Entity, or of Yugi Tsukasa, either the original iteration or the New Present one. Chapter 118 debunks these possibilities and instead reveals that the voices were caused by their original iterations telling them to remember who they originally were. In Kou's case, it was his original iteration doing so.
Supernatural Durability[]
Despite being a supernatural, Yugi Tsukasa is so powerful that not only can he take hits from Minamoto Kou when he used Raiteijou's power on him, but also survive being impaled by it. Normally, most supernaturals would dissipate upon being hit with an exorcist's weapon. Even Minamoto Teru, who should be far more powerful in his exorcism abilities, only managed to free Kou from Tsukasa's possession while only slightly weakening him instead of outright exorcising him.
However, Teru had used Raitenjou to weaken him, and as the staff has a sealing talisman[2] pasted on it, Despite Hanako's clear non-existence (In the sense that his New Present counterpart lived on and didn't become a ghost) in the New Present, it is possible that Raitenjou's power was insufficient to exorcise the supernatural, even if an exorcist with as much training and power as Teru wielded it.
Trivia[]
- This iteration of Yugi Tsukasa is an inverse to his brother Hanako in the Original Timeline, as well as his original iteration, in the sense that while the original Yugi Tsukasa was a completely unknown supernatural with no associated rumor in the Original timeline, he is a ghost with a rumor who can be summoned via following a certain set of steps (Knocking on the third stall of the third floor girl's CR for Hanako, preparing a vase with flowers and individual sheets of paper with one's name on it for Tsukasa-Kun), which just makes him more similar to Hanako's role in the Original Timeline.
- Likewise, Chapter 116 reveals that the object used to summon him is a Yorishiro, further strengthening the similarities.
- Given Yugi Tsukasa's mannerisms being not like that of his original iteration or even his younger self, as well as the immense power that he has, there is a possibility that this iteration of Yugi Tsukasa isn't actually him at all, but The Entity itself posing as something else, having been unaffected by what Kako and Mirai had done to change the timeline in the New Present.
- This was theorized as a possibility by Aoi Akane towards the end of Chapter 116, and is confirmed a few chapters later when Akane sees a Yugi Family photo with only Amane and his parents, Tsukasa being nowhere in the picture.
