Witnessing Sumire's "wedding day" up close might just give Nene a hint on how to resolve the school's impending crisis and save Aoi—but she'll have to survive it first! Meanwhile, on the very banks of the Far Shore, Aoi and Akane finally put into words exactly what they mean to each other...

Sumire Part 1[]
Hanako and Yashiro end up in a strange forest after being thrown out of number 6's domain. A strange girl called Sumire finds them and decides to keep them as pets. She calls Hanako "Gon", since Hanako didn't share his name. Later on, Hanako discovers that they're not out of number 6's domain yet. In fact, they're in the deepest parts of the domain. Sumire then takes Yashiro to bathe with her. Hanako insists on coming, not knowing that they were going for a bath. He is then called a pervert, and is forced to wait outside for the two. Meanwhile, while making small talk in the bathroom, Yashiro learns that Sumire is to be married to a beast of dome sort. When Sumire shows Yashiro a mask she had hidden from the beast, Yashiro realized it was number 6's mask. Therefore, Sumire was getting married to number 6. Sumire then begins to undress herself and Yashiro sees something on her neck. A yorishiro seal. The chapter ends on a suspenseful cliffhanger, showing that a human can also be a yorishiro.
Sumire Part 2[]
Yashiro Nene, dragged by Sumire to take a bath, notices a yorishiro seal on Sumire's neck, revealing that Sumire is indeed No. 6's yorishiro. Sumire notices and tells Nene that she knows Nene can destroy a yorishiro like her. According to Sumire, she does not mind if the seal is removed but requests Nene to "please wait for one more day" as Sumire's wedding to No. 6 was the day after. She also asks to not tell 'Gon,' Hanako's nickname given by Sumire. Later on, when Hanako and Nene are sent off to bed, Hanako stays awake to keep watch. However, Nene is awoken to masked people. At first, Nene is shocked and taken aback, but instead of attacking her, they praise and congratulate Nene on her wedding mistaking her for Sumire, ignoring Nene's pleas that she isn't Sumire. After Nene is forcibly departed, a scene appears with Sumire and Hanako. Hanako is laid out on the floor, looking defeated and unconscious while Sumire stands with an electrified knife in front of him. Back to Nene, she, in a frenzied panic, leaps off from the seating she is being held from and runs off. She is then stopped by another masked person, she is punched in the stomach and called a "failure of a Kannagi.' Revealing their true intent, they claim it will be troublesome for them if Nene isn't sacrificed today, continuing to mistake Nene for Sumire. Nene is forcibly fed an unknown elixir which puts her in a brainwashed state, unable to think on her own. One of them is asked to relay the message to the head of Minamotos, referring to Kou Minamoto's family name. A flashback appears of Sumire and No. 6 when Sumire was a child, No. 6 states that he is her caretaker and he will protect her. The scene then resumes to Nene, walking up to the portal to the far shore, but due to the bell bracelet Sumire had given her, she is unable to pass through. She snaps out of the daze from the elixir while the masked people around her begin to talk in a panic, realizing that she isn't Sumire-sama. One masked person notes that "A daughter of the Akanes rejected by the gate..." confirming that Sumire and Aoi are related by bloodline. The people, desperate for a sacrifice, attempt to throw Nene into the portal by force. This is when Hanako is called by Nene, although appearing unconscious by his earlier scene, he appears unscathed by Nene's side, finally appearing to save the day.
Sumire Part 3[]
Aoi and Akane[]
Chapter 69 starts with Akane Aoi putting a bandage on Aoi Akane. When Aoi Akane wakes up, he asks Akane Aoi if she will marry him. To his surprise, she says, "Yes, let's get married!". She confronts Aoi, asking him what he even likes about her and that if she said yes, he'd just be disappointed anyways. Aoi says that he loves her because each time she compliments him, he wonders who she's talking about. He says that she has no interest in him. She starts to talk about how people have a false image of her and treat her like a different species, and that everyone lies and hides things from her. She says that he doesn't love her, and lies to her. She walks away, but Aoi pulls her close and tells her that he hated her the entire time. Akane looks surprised, and confronts her about looking down on everyone. He calls her names, to which Akane starts crying. She says she hates him too, to which he talks about when they were kids, and calls her cute. He tells her that she likes him, then is about to kiss her, when Teru Minamoto walks in.
