Mitsuba Sousuke (三葉惣助, Mitsuba Sosuke^?), is first and foremost, a variant of the two characters who share the identity of Mitsuba Sousuke. He didn't met his demise in 2013, and therefore, didn't become Broken Neck, and then later with a recreation, the School Mystery of the "Hell of Mirrors", one of the Seven Mysteries, thanks to the actions of Kako and Mirai, which led to the creation of the New Present.

In this New Present, Mitsuba Sousuke is a student at Kamome Academy's Middle School Division. He is a member of the Photography Club.

Unlike his original counterpart, he is alive and well, and is best friends with Minamoto Kou. Equally, he doesn't seem to know Yashiro Nene, and called Kou a "flirt" when he offered her a "Free 1 Takoyaki" coupon

Appearance

Much like his original iteration, Mitsuba has pink hair that covers one of his eyes that is in a small ponytail, his eyes are pink and he has a singular beauty mark under his eye.

When outside of school, Mitsuba wears a light peach sweater, beige trousers and red converse style shoes. He also wears a cap over his head and a camera slung to his chest.

Personality

This iteration of Mitsuba Sousuke is just as scared and jittery as his original iteration, especially when it comes to the supernatural. however when given the motivation or when the situation calls for it (Such as his underclassman going missing), he can be heroic and brave himself against any kind of threat. He also still likes to poke fun at Minamoto Kou, especially with his earring or if he's promoting their stall and a girl just so happens to interact with him.

Noticeably, once he started getting dreams of himself becoming a supernatural after the School Festival (Which were in reality, his original iteration's fake version being transformed into No.3), he wants to remember what had happened and everything around it, showing to us that he is a curious person and he wants to know things if he experiences them.

Abilities

Partial Memory Retention

Unlike with Nene, Teru and Akane, but more similar to Aoi and Kou, Mitsuba does not fully remember his original iteration's memories, however they come up in dreams that have started since the School Festival, particularly those of when he became the Third Mystery. This is however, similar to Nene's partial memory retention prior to her having full remembrance of her memories.

In Chapter 118, his dreams and recollections become more frequent, and also involved both of his original iterations (The Original and The Fake Mitsubas) speaking to him and telling him to remember and that he can't remain the same way.

Trivia

• A rather curious thing about Mitsuba is that when he told Kou about his dreams, they feature him transforming into No.3, despite that action actually having happened to a fake recreation of him, and not his original iteration who became Broken Neck instead.
  • This may be because the recreated fake Mitsuba was created using a piece of the original Mitsuba's soul, and as the original Mitsuba is all but gone, this fake Mitsuba is for all intents and purposes, the continued original iteration of Mitsuba.
    • Debunked. Both Mitsubas appeared to the New Present Mitsuba in his dreams when he told them to Kou in Chapter 118, revealing that in a sense, the New Present Mitsuba is actually an iteration of 2 different characters who share the same essence and identity of being "Mitsuba" thanks to the latter being created from a piece of the soul of the former.
