So, you're saying I should just throw our old world away and live in this new one?

Minamoto Teru asking Aoi Akane if they should just give up what they know and live in the New Present that Kako and Mirai made.

Although neither of us wanted this to happen, we can't just go against our families' decision.

So let's pretend like everything's fine in front of everyone else, and who knows? Maybe one day, we can break it off altogether too.

— A younger Teru making a promise to the younger Akane Aoi following their official engagement to one another, and expressing their mutual reluctance for it.

Minamoto Teru ( (みなもと) (てる) Minamoto Teru?), is first and foremost, a variant of Minamoto Teru whose very existence has been altered thanks to the actions of Kako and Mirai, which led to the creation of the New Present.

In this New Present, Minamoto Teru is a second year student at Kamome Academy's High School Division and the school's Student Council President, much like his original counterpart. He is also Kou and Tiara's elder brother and a member of a renowned family of exorcists, the Minamoto Clan.

Minamoto Teru is also one of the few characters in the New Present to retain the memories of the previous iteration of himself, being able to remember what Aoi Akane had instructed him to do earlier, and then blaming him for the changes that were done to the Present.

An interesting change is that he is Akane Aoi's childhood friend instead of Akane, and in fact, the both of them are engaged to one another as per their respective families' arrangement, despite their mutual disdain for it.

Appearance[]

Much like his original counterpart, this iteration of Minamoto Teru has all the exact same features and appearances, down to the blond hair, bright aqua blue eyes, and his Kamome Gakuen School Uniform, with his sword sheathed over his hip.

Personality[]

This iteration of Minamoto Teru retains the same personality as his original counterpart, thanks to his full retention of the latter's memories, down to his hatred of supernaturals as he is unsure whether to classify Akane as a human or as a supernatural. Upon finding out what happened from Akane, Teru angrily punched him with such force as to push him towards a cabinet, and then interrogated him as to what the Clock Keepers had done to the present.

As a side effect of retaining the Original Teru's memories, the New Present version of Teru has no knowledge of his life prior to the change, but according to Akane Aoi, when he was young, he was self-centered and does not want to actually marry her in the future because he despises people who are in his words "hang their heads and play the victim".

As a given from his original iteration's memories, Teru can be somewhat manipulative, as when both Akane and Nene were willing to leave the New Present as is following their respective investigations of the New Present, Teru not only disagreed with them, but he also placed the both of them in an embarrassing situation by lying to Aoi that the both of them are dating and thus cause a misunderstanding to happen between the three of them (All the while mocking the both of them by implying that Nene's crush is the "Evil Spirit of a Murderer", and the "Akane-San" that Aoi Akane confesses to is another girl with the same surname), thus forcing both Nene and Akane to give in to Teru's mission to change the New Present.

Abilities[]

Exorcist Powers and Abilities[]

This iteration of Minamoto Teru has the same exorcist powers and abilities as his original counterpart, which is helped by his retention of his memories from his prior iteration.

Memory Retention[]

This ability is possessed by some of the characters in the New Present, wherein they are still capable of remembering some details or memories that were originally possessed by their original counterparts. According to Akane however, this only lasts three days before the new memories overtake the older ones. Additionally, during the three days that the original iteration's memories are retained, the New Present iteration's memories are supressed, causing those with the ability to not remember anything that their New Present iterations did until the three days are up.

As one of the characters in the New Present to have such an ability, Minamoto Teru remembers all details and memories of his previous iteration. He is also able to fully recall everything he has said, done, and heard up to the time that Kako and Mirai reset the Present into the New Present, and as such, was able to confront Akane as to what both Kako and Mirai had done to the present.

In Teru's case, the ability is also a double-edged sword as he admitted to Aoi that because of his father's absence and his mother's death, he had to take up the responsibility of being the big brother to his younger siblings, only for Aoi to tell him that she had bumped into his mother just the day before yesterday, which made Teru realize what kind of world the New Present is.
