After-school Love (放課後の恋心 Hōkago no koigokoro?) is the fourteenth chapter of the spin-off Houkago Shounen Hanako-kun.
Summary[]
High school division social studies teacher Nagisa-sensei finds Yako and picks her up, thinking that she is a civet, while Yako protests that she is a fox. Yako recalls how she got into the situation: on her daily patrol when she got caught in a mouse-trap for supernaturals, set up by Teru. She also realises that in order to see her, Nagisa must have a high level of spiritual power. Then Nagisa calls Tsuchigomori if he knows what animal Yako is, and Yako notices that Nagisa resembles Misaki.
Just then, Tsuchigomori enters the room, and Yako tries to escape, but Nagisa catches her, and scolds her. Yako also notes that by scolding her, he resembles Misaki more and more. Nagisa asks Tsuchigomori what kind of animal Yako is, but he says he doesn't know. Then, Nagisa says that if Yako is a civet, then he will have to exterminate her, and Yako and Tsuchigomori are shocked. Tsuchigomori finally says that Yako is probably a civet, and she attacks them both to escape. This causes Tsuchigomori to say that the true nature of the 'foreign species' is showing, while Nagisa says that if Yako was indeed a cat, then he would have kept her in the school, but it now seems impossible. However, Yako seems to reconsider her actions, and mews. She leaps into Nagisa's lap and mews again, leading him to the conclusion she was a cat.
At the end, Tsuchigomori asks Yako if she was showing love, but she tells him to shut up.
