Funimation Description[]
Tsukasa rescues Nene and Mitsuba from the Hell of Mirrors, but does the mercurial ghost have something worse in store for them? Meanwhile, Hanako and Kou race to find a way to follow Nene, but will they make it in time?[2]
Plot[]
Yashiro Nene was shocked as she saw how Number 3 was easily beaten by Yugi Tsukasa, she quoted to Hanako's past explanation where he said that the Seven Mysteries were supposed to be unbeatable in their boundaries. Tsukasa walks over to Number 3's corpse and penetrates through his chest with bare hands, and extracting his heart in the process. He reiterates to Mitsuba Sousuke that if he wants to get stronger he needs to beat a strong apparition and eat it.
Meanwhile at the Science Prep Room, Hanako and Minamoto Kou tries to convince Tsuchigomori to help them get into Number 3's boundary to rescue Nene. Hanako pleads to Tsuchigomori that he would be responsible for any harm done to Nene, stressing that she is not just an assistant but also a good friend of his. Tsuchigomori exhales and states that each of the Seven Wonders' boundary has a special function. His boundary holds the school records. Number Two's function is space, and they can access almost any area of the school through her boundary. In confusion, Kou puts forward that Nene had already destroyed her boundary when she stripped off the Yorishiro. Tsuchigomori rejects this idea and says that she only lost authority over it. The boundary still exists, but he can't say how functional it would be since no one's there to oversee it. Yako disapproves of the idea involving her helping, stating that she is unbothered about whatever happens to his 'grubby' assistant. She is interrupted by Hanako who threatens to make her into kitsune udon. Yako then agrees to comply.
Yako uses the stairs to teleport them to the boundary. The new look of the boundary astounded both Hanako and Kou. The boundary has very much changed from before with the scenery getting a lighter ambience and becoming overgrown with spider lilies. Yako tells the two to follow her and reminds them not to wander off. As they walk up the stairs, Kou asks Yako for confirmation whether the reason she attacked them was because her rumor had changed. Yako dismisses the question and follows up by questioning Kou's motive to bring up these unpleasantries. Kou answers saying he was just wondering what such experience felt like. His curiosity infuriated Yako who tells him it isn't a topic she wants to talk about, and confirms her guess that Misaki was the only decent human that have ever lived. Hanako tells Yako to loosen her tight attitude, and informs her that he is only trying to cope with how he had a ghost friend who disappeared after his rumor got changed. He suggests that Yako had some knowledge of that feeling. Yako pauses, turns her head, and agrees to answer. She reflects that the experience wasn't a pleasant feeling, but it was a genuine reaction as it was a side of herself she tended to keep concealed. Yako emphasizes that his friend does hear what he says, but he may not have understood right away. She assures Kou that regardless of her friend's scary behavior or her appearance, his friend was still there listening. Hanako avertedly shifts his gaze from the subject and touches his seal.
Yako presents the two to what appears to be a purple swirling portal leading to Number Three's boundary. Kou describes the portal as a creepy-looking mirror meanwhile Hanako playfully pokes his finger at it. Yako affirms that her part has ended and she will not be proceeding any further. She states that they will have to solve their way on getting back on their own. Kou thanks Yako, while calling her "foxy," which prompted Yako to bite his head, reiterating to Kou that her name is Yako. After a while pause, the two ready themselves and they proceed to enter the portal.
A grunting Mitsuba is heard as Tsukasa has forced his mouth wide open in order to force-feed him with Number 3's heart. Mitsuba exclaims that he has no longer the desire to do this, and requests Tsukasa to take it away. Tsukasa continues anyway and steadily tries to move the heart onto his mouth, he is interrupted by Nene who grabs his arm and orders Tsukasa to stop the procedure. Tsukasa grabs a yelping Nene's head and seemingly attempted to collide it with the ground. Tsukasa ceases the attempt and reaffirms that he is supposed to be gentler with the girls than the boys. Tsukasa comes to resolution and uses his ability to put her to sleep.
Hanako and Kou barges in the portal leading to the Mirror World. They discover Nene who has fallen asleep. Kou sees Mitsuba and approaches him. Mitsuba looks to have incorporated some of Number 3's body parts, like his arms being transformed into claws. Surprised as he is to discover his dead friend, he begins to ask questions, which then instinctually prompted monstrous claws to come out from Mitsuba's body and attack him. Mitsuba weeps as the exoskeleton began to charge at the defenseless Kou, before being rescued by Hanako. Hanako dodges the exoskeleton's attacks and swiftly slices them to pieces. Tsukasa re-appears and asks Mitsuba if he's done. Mitsuba reacts with a whimper and embraces Tsukasa. Hanako stares at Tsukasa and asked why he's there. Tsukasa gasps in astonishment and hugs him, lamenting how he misses him. Mitsuba's limbs begins to charge at the two and blows them away. Tsukasa grabs the limbs and persuades Mitsuba to relax and take control of it. Kou confronts Tsukasa and demands explanation over what he did to Mitsuba. Tsukasa explains that he made Mitsuba's wish come true, and in exchange he extracted his reason. He had created Mitsuba by scraping together parts from lesser spirits and pouring his soul into it. He goes to clarify to Kou that the Mitsuba that lived and died as a human no longer exists. Kou asks him to show his justification on doing so. Tsukasa answers that he always wanted to try making an artificial human, but he's a ghost so he only succeeded in making an artificial ghost. Kou activates his staff and expresses deep irritation over the matter, telling him that that Mitsuba is not a toy that he could just play with. Tsukasa counteracts by asking if he meant that he should've never made Mitsuba in that case. Mitsuba becomes petrified of this, and suddenly both of them disappear to midair.
Tsukasa asks Mitsuba if he'd rather have his new power taken away and vanish with it, or if he would rather take over the boundary and assume the role as a Seven Wonder. Mitsuba comes to his decision, giving grounds that he doesn't want to disappear and become nothing, so in order to avoid this he will agree on becoming a Wonder... Tsukasa affirms to this and agrees to grant his wish. He announces that from now on, Mitsuba will now be known as the Third Wonder of the school. Mitsuba takes on a new form, now wearing a tattered black jacket embellished with eyes. He becomes ecstatic as he has assumed the role of Number Three. Tsukasa tells him that the boundary now belongs to him. In celebration, he comes to ask him what he want to be as an apparition. Mitsuba answers, saying his wish is to be a normal human. He asks Tsukasa if it could be possible. Tsukasa affirms to this. Suddenly, a resounding no comes from Hanako as he surrounds them with the Hakujoudai. Hanako asserts that apparitions born in the land of the dead are forbidden from living as humans in their world. He demands Mitsuba to give back his position and urges him not to become the Third Wonder. Tsukasa chuckles and tells Hanako that Mitsuba had certainly became very strong, suggesting that it would be enough to crush him like a bug. He adds that he would be unable to defeat him under his own boundary. He looks back and notices Mitsuba attempting to flee away from the situation. He confronts Mitsuba who confesses that he wouldn't be able to beat a guy who's slinging a big knife around, also arguing that he is too cute to engage in such despairing act. In an effort to get him engaged, Tsukasa smacks and forces him to yield. Mitsuba then confronts the three, while referring to Hanako as "Crazy Knife" and Kou as "Lame-ass Traffic Earring." Mitsuba exclaims that the lives of three are in his hands due to them being in his boundary, and that he can do whatever he wants with them.
Kou approaches and grabs his hands. He asks Mitsuba if he remembers him. To which he replied negatively. Kou looks at Mitsuba's claw-like hands, reflecting back to the past when he last interacted with Mitsuba. Mitsuba retrieves his hands, however Kou then forcefully grabs it again, dragging Mitsuba nearer. Kou suggests that he does know him, attempting to compel Mitsuba to remember him by rummaging through the debris and giving Mitsuba the Garden Club Activity Log, in an attempt to remind of his life as a human. Tsukasa proceeds to drag Mitsuba away and pushes him to Hanako, he gets freaked out by his knife prompting his limbs to attack. The two began to fend themselves against the ravaging exoskeletons. Hanako suggests that in order to take back his position as a Wonder, they would have to break the Yorishiro, but since Nene isn't awake yet they have to resort to getting him under control. Hanako grapples Mitsuba and once again demands him to let go of his position. In a fit of rage, Mitsuba's exoskeleton began to extend across the room, colliding with the top surface. The collision knocked some debris that began to fall to Nene...
Nene wakes up, and Mitsuba seemed to have protected her from the falling debris. Nene suggests that Mitsuba looks far different from before, in response to his new look. Mitsuba affirms this and adds that he is stronger now than before. He tells Nene that he's one of the Wonders now and he gets to run the boundary they are now in. He says that he hopes that Nene won't try to destroy it, as this would ultimately lead to his harm. He tells them to leave, and suddenly the mirrors shook as pink limbs began to drag Hanako, Kou, and Nene into the mirror leading to outside the boundary. Mitsuba expresses a call for silence as he tells them to stop struggling, he expresses his farewell to Nene, expressing that he would meet her again in the future. It is at night-time and the three are transported back to the bathroom where they lay unconscious.
