Claid (クレイド Kureido?) or Creed is a character that appears in Dear My Living Dead. He is a necromancer tasked with watching over the young pair of necromancers named Cult and Lilia. He has a contract with a Living Dead dog named Alex, and he has demonstrated great control and communication with him thanks to his contract.
Appearance[]
Claid is a tall and older man with a pair of scratch scars on his left eye. He has presumably short, dark hair, and dark-colored eyes. His ears, or at least his left ear, are pierced.
On his neck, he wears a large collar. On the front, the collar has a large eye symbol with a cross at its center. He wears a more professional outfit compared to Cult and Lilia, with a long coat, and long baggy pants. He also wears a striped or lined shirt underneath his long coat.
Personality[]
Claid is a consummate professional in performing his job as a Necromancer, and also serves as a mentor figure to Cult and Lilia. He is rather laidback when he's around the two of them, except when on missions to tackle down the Living Dead Mothers. He also shows some pride in his capabilities, as he expresses a small smirk when presenting his control over Alex as part of his contract to him during the church's presentation.
Like Lilia, Claid thinks that the Church isn't in the right position to execute people that hide their kids' necromancer marks from them, but he also thinks that he does not have the guts to face them if he chooses to question their actions. He thinks that they could do no more than to obey the Church.
Abilities[]
Amplification[]
The seal on his hand allows him to utilize some of his power to summon a weapon and defeat the Living Dead. Currently, Claid's weapon is not shown in the one-shot, and so his weapon remains unknown.
Contract[]
By forming a circle and inscribing his name around a potential familiar, Claid decided to use it on his dog Alex. He demonstrated his control over Alex during a Church presentation.
Trivia[]
- Artstyle-wise, Claid is visually similar in facial and bodily proportion to Shinigami-sama and Nagisa, and elements of it are also present in Nagisa Kunishige's younger appearance.
- Additionally, the older Nagisa's appearance also has a facial scratch scar, albeit it's on the right eye, and it's only a single long scratch compared to Claid's 2 shorter ones.
