The Donuts (ドーナツ Dōnatsu?) is the fifteenth chapter of Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun by AidaIro.
Summary[]
Hanako is suspecting Yashiro and is wondering why she is acting weird. So he questions her about it. Yashiro is tries to dodge the question by saying she’s just acting the way she usually is. Hanako is asking if she’s sure and says she’s just not reacting her usual way. And he also points out that she stopped whining as she cleaned. Yashiro responds saying about its a good thing and Hanako clenches on her arm and tells about how boring it is. Yashiro trying to avoid eye contact, but Hanako twists her head to face him which shocks Yashiro. Kou remains silent as he watches the scene.
In class Yashiro agrees that she herself has been acting weird. She thinks about how a glimpse of Hanako’s past made her unable to have eye contact with him. Later on she wears her glove and smashes the dirt yelling to herself that she’s just a normal girl. She regrets seeing Hanako’s past memories in the book stacks. She wonders about what she should do next. She thinks about how she has toilet cleaning duty so she must see Hanako. Suddenly Kou appears and is impressed by the garden Yashiro took care of. Yashiro is surprised to see him and asks why he is here. Than Kou replies that he wanted to ask a favour. He asks if Yashiro could make donuts. They eventually end up in the baking room and Kou talks about he attempted to make donuts with Teru which failed, miserably. Yashiro, who is horrified with the mess, helps clean up the area. A Mokke is shivering as the other Mokke surround it talking about how the donuts are poisonous. Kou also told Yashiro that she wont have toilet cleaning duty due to him telling Hanako who isn’t aware about this. Yashiro questions why Kou suddenly wanted to make donuts with him getting flustered as he says it for “his sister” and how she wanted donuts. He apologises for asking Yashiro to help him but Yashiro thanks him due to her having problems with Hanako. Than she quickly says that they didn’t have a fight, it was just awkward with Hanako and mixes the dough very quick. Kou stops her from mixing quick and advices her, he holds her hands as they mixed the dough together with Yashiro questioning about how Kou said he was a bad cook. Kou gives advices and comforts Yashiro. With her asking for personal space which flusters Kou who quickly jumps away apologising and saying about how its a habit since he cooks with his sister. He trips over something and crashes into the “poisonous donuts” with the Mokke announcing that he been covered in poison. Kou quickly says he isn’t dead while Yashiro just laughs and thanks him and told him what happened with Hanako
Yashiro mentions about how she thinks she shouldn’t be friends with Hanako since he’s dead, which surprises Kou. She also says he is a School mystery, an evil spirit, and a murderer. She imagines that he was bullied so he killed his tormenter. She gets very confused and talks about how she can’t forget him. Yashiro also mentions how she wants to know more about him and help him despite him being a ghost and a murderer. She wants to know what to do. Than Kou responds that he will hell her. Kou explains that he wanted to exorcise him but he wasn’t sure anymore. And he doesn’t know a lot about him so he doesn’t care about what’s right and what’s wrong and will just do what he wants to do. He also responds that he and Yashiro are really similar for this reason. Which makes Yashiro happy and they both team up. Eventually the donuts were finished, Yashiro and Kou gazes at the donuts mesmerised by the crispy outer layer and soft inside. Kou attempts to eat one but was interrupted by Teru. Kou is shocked as his brother asks who bought the ingredients and spoke about how Kou was gonna eat a donut without him, Teru greets Yashiro and also asks if she was making donuts too. Yashiro responds and told about how Kou said he was a bad cook. Only for Teru to get confused and said about how Kou is a great cook, but he couldn’t finish his sentence since a donut was shoved into his mouth by Kou. As quick as he could, Kou shoves donuts into a bag and quickly gives it to Yashiro, telling about how donuts are his favourite food, and told about hos Hanako would love them. Yashiro says she’s gonna give them to Hanako and Kou happily said see you later to Yashiro. Yashiro smiles at Kou and is grateful since Kou invited her to make donuts to help Yashiro and Hanako’s relationship. Which Kou replies by stuttering. And he remains frozen with those wonderful thoughts of appreciation from Yashiro. Than that moment suddenly ends with Teru saying who’s a bad cook now as if its Kou who does all the housework and Kou yelping. Than Kou tells about Teru is good at everything except life skills. Term asks why donuts and Kou knows he can’t tell Teru about Hanako so Teru asks if Kou likes Yashiro with Kiu stuttering,
A Mokke goes running to a girl with green hair and slim legs, also known as Nanamine Sakura. Who asks if the Mokke has done the job. The mokke replies and is rewarded with pets and treats.
At the rooftop, Hanako is very happy about the donuts. He cheers while Yashiro watches him. Hanako tells Yashiro that she’s finally back to normal while Yashiro is just confused. Hanako tells Yashiro that she has been acting weird lately and Yashiro responds that it was because Hanako was a ghost, so he was already dead. And that he is very different from normal people, she says she also realised that Hanako is actually more trouble than he’s worth, which shocks Hanako. Hanako who is currently lying on the ground looks at Yashiro. And Yashiro tells that she’s okay with it because no matter how troublesome he is, she will always like him. With Hanako slightly blushing with shock and Yashiro quickly mentions that it was in a friends way and about how he’s not her type. They both were gonna eat the donuts so Yashiro opened it, while she was trying to open the donuts Hanako was about to admit something until the bag rustled and came out an Origami Crane. It flew up while Hanako quickly defends Yashiro. The crane does something and Hanako tells that he doesn’t what kind of supernatural it is but Yashiro and him are having an important conversation so he slices the crane. Laughing sounds can be heard and a black Haku Joudai appears which shocks Hanako as it replies with found you. A supernatural slowly appears asking Hanako how he will protect her with the same knife used to kill him. Than the super natural greets Hanako using his actual name known as Amane.
