Aoi Akane is a first-year high schooler that attends Kamome Gakuen. He is the vice president of the Student Council with its president, Minamoto Teru. He is devoted to studying, organization, and offering sound information and assistance. However, whenever it comes to Akane Aoi, he becomes immediately lovestruck and makes an attempt to impress and or confess to her. They had been childhood friends since the beginning, and they currently live in apartments that are next door, with windows directly across from each other.
For a long time, Akane has watched over and admired Aoi from either afar or through his time stop, a power given to him as No.1 of the School Mysteries. Although he wasn't born a supernatural, his yearning to protect Aoi from getting injured in a road accident gave him the power to stop time by the supernaturals of the past and the future. Although he still kept his dislike of supernaturals, he continues to cooperate with the other No.1 representatives as well as listen to Hanako in dire situations.
Relationships[]
Mirai[]
Akane calls the supernatural of the future, Mirai, since it means future in Japanese (未来). He usually leaves the responsibility of keeping her in line to Kako, the supernatural who controls the past. However, he seems to be familiar with her antics and speedy nature, as noted while he works with Nene, Hanako, and Kou in catching her.
Kako[]
Just like Mirai, Akane calls him Kako, Japanese for past (過去). He appears to have some respect for him since Kako listens to what he has to say.
Yamabuki Lemon[]
Lemon and Akane are classmates and good friends. In the Confession Tree Arc, Lemon helps Akane practice confessing to Aoi under the Confession Tree. As a result, they were turned into a lovey-dovey couple for a short period of time due to the rumor attached to the tree.
A running gag in the series is Akane failing to confess to Aoi, and ending up making it sound like he's in love with Lemon instead.
Akane Aoi[]
Aoi and Akane are childhood friends.
Akane is in love with Aoi, obsessed, even. He confesses his love to Aoi who he calls "Ao-chan" multiple times a day, and Aoi declines every time. Aoi says that she turns him down because her name would become "Aoi Aoi" if they ever married, since Akane's family name is Aoi.
Akane gained his power when Aoi was about to get hurt, as he wished for time to stop. He used his power to save Aoi from danger. When he goes through a day without using his power at all, he stops Aoi's time for 15 full minutes just to gaze at her.
Minamoto Teru[]
Akane often works alongside Teru in the student council committee, and is aware of his exorcism and special abilities since becoming a supernatural. As a result, Teru gave him special glasses that limited his supernatural abilities and prevents other apparitions from sensing him. The two share a close friendship, and he sometimes gets wrapped into Teru's antics and challenges. However, when it comes to committing an accident or trouble, Teru's punishment for him is trapping him with his bracelet (which is mainly used for tackling supernaturals).
Hanako[]
Akane hates both supernaturals and murderers. As a result, he deeply dislikes Hanako, and typically acts passive-aggressively (or even outright aggressively) towards him, although he agrees to a temporary alliance to recapture Mirai after her escape.
Yashiro Nene[]
Akane doesn't seem to hold any ill will against Yashiro, despite being annoyed by the fact that she often works with Hanako. However, Akane does often agree to alliances with Yashiro.
