Alex (アレックス Arekkusu?) is a character that appears in Dear My Living Dead.
He is a dog that died and was resurrected as a Living Dead by Claid to be his Contract Partner prior to the events of the one-shot when he had reached 15 years of age.
Appearance[]
Alex is a large black dog of possibly a Labrador Retriever or a Dobermann breed. He has a blindfold over his eyes, presumably because his eyes had decomposed by the time he was resurrected. He also wears a spiked collar.
In his normal size, he appears as if alive, plus the blindfold, but when enlarged, much of his flesh appears to be rotten to the point of his bones, particularly his ribs and vertebrae being revealed.
Personality[]
As a dog, Alex is very loyal to his contract partner Claid, and always accompanies him on every mission.
But their relationship goes deeper as due to the contract Claid made with him, their souls are bonded to the point that they can easily sense and communicate with one another, thus they have far more than just a "master and pet" relationship.
Alex may or may not have been Claid's pet dog in life.
Abilities[]
Size Altering[]
As a resurrected Living Dead bound to Claid, Alex has the power to alter his size. Normally, he is as large as a typical large dog, but when needed, he can increase his size to much larger sizes, even towering over Claid.
Contract[]
By forming a circle and inscribing his name around a potential familiar, Claid decided to use it on his dog Alex. As a result of the contract, both Claid and Alex's souls are intertwined with one another, to the point that they can easily understand one another
